1. What did you think of the Syllabus? Was it helpful?
The syllabus was a great way of introducing the class to how this course will be different from a traditional online course.
It was quite helpful, even though I have been through a course like this, this syllabus helped me adjust to the different layout from the initial experience I had.
2. What did you think of the Textbook? Recommended Reading/Books? Were they helpful?
2. What did you think of the Textbook? Recommended Reading/Books? Were they helpful?
They are quite helpful I am enjoying running through the book along side this course.  The other resources look interesting as well, and I plan on aquiring them at somepoint either by the end of this course or in the near future.
3. What did you think of the How-To Videos? Were they helpful?
3. What did you think of the How-To Videos? Were they helpful?
Yes,  I enjoy the how-to-videos a lot!  I am more of a hands on learner so having the videos with description helps my thought process and retention of what needs to be done.

4. What do you think of Plectica?
4. What do you think of Plectica?
I really like Plectica. It feels like a slightly more professional version of Powerpoint. I think it is nice that there are formats you can use but we can also be creative and add color, pictures and different types of special effects to make it our own!
5. What are your expectations for Tableau?
5. What are your expectations for Tableau?
It took me a while to get everything on Tableau set up and functioning, so I am a little nervous about using it later in this class. I think it will be a new tool that will be difficult to use, but I am hoping it will expand my knowledge of using new technology.
6. What do you think of Rationaleonline.com?
6. What do you think of Rationaleonline.com?
I wish I could have tried the full version. I usually like trying it out before paying for a full subscription, and I just feel like I didn’t get enough of a trial just using 5 boxes to create a small map. However, the features it did have were great! I liked how easy it was to create relationships.
7. Did you use Thinkquiry? If so, was it helpful?
7. Did you use Thinkquiry? If so, was it helpful?
I used ThinkQuiry to look at your suggestions for one of our assignments, and I did like how it broke questions and concepts up almost into a Systems Thinking process. Being able to use the pre-formatted questions and working them out in my head helped me create an effective, well thought out map.

To be honest, I have only glanced at the recommended reading/books; if I had more time to devote to reading, I'm sure that they would expand my knowledge and understanding. Things being as they are, though, it is really not feasible to take time away from my other obligations.

8. What do you think of ST v2.0 (DSRP)?
DSRP is something I had never heard of until this class. I thought ST v2.0 was a cool tool that helped me better understand the DSRP systems thinking process.
9. What do you think of the new concepts introduced?
9. What do you think of the new concepts introduced?
All of the concepts introduced thus far are new for me. The different concepts that have been introduced throughout the course have helped me understand processes and forced me to become more open-minded.
10. What are your thoughts on Lean Six Sigma? Is it a career path you would be interested in pursuing?
10. What are your thoughts on Lean Six Sigma? Is it a career path you would be interested in pursuing?
Lean Six Sigma is something I have always enjoyed since the first time I heard about it at work seven years ago. I have completed my yellow and green belt and need to continue on with the process in order to become a black belt. My company doesn’t seem to really promote or compensate individuals that have pursued the Lean Six Sigma journey to becoming a black belt. However, I do believe Lean Six Sigma is something that can separate an individual from others when applying for different jobs. This is something that the healthcare industry is really trying to push!
11. What did you think of the Pyramid Principle?
11. What did you think of the Pyramid Principle?
The pyramid principle is a structure that I truly believe helps to organize ideas. I found it to be helpful with organizing the structure of my blog. Summarizing ones thoughts and ideas allows people to begin thinking about the material that will be included within their blogs or essays.
12. What do you think of Knowledge Transfer?
12. What do you think of Knowledge Transfer?
I am a big believer of knowledge transfers. We use them all the time at work. They help teams pass important knowledge to other teams that would also find that information to be valuable. Transferring and sharing knowledge across teams helps eliminate the organization from being siloed. It also helps to ensure newer people are provided with the opportunity to gain knowledge that they would otherwise not gain without the opportunity of a knowledge transfer. It allows organizations to grow and become stronger!
13. What are your initial thoughts on Swarm Learning?
13. What are your initial thoughts on Swarm Learning?
I was honestly confused at first as to what Swarm Learning was since I had not previously heard about it. I was overwhelmed and feared that I might have signed up for a class that is going to be way over my head. The Facebook group helped me feel more comfortable and confident with the Swarm Learning style!
14. What did you think of the Barriers to Learning?
14. What did you think of the Barriers to Learning?
Barriers of learning affect our overall ability to learning new concepts. They are everywhere and hard to break down. Learning something new can already be so stressful, but it is important for us to break down barriers during the learning process. My biggest issue is that I am extremely visual. It was difficult understanding the expectations around building a map in Pletica until seeing the first post. I now understand why the people who post first get extra credit!
15. What did you think of the Stable Datum?
15. What did you think of the Stable Datum?
I am grateful for the how-to-videos that are posted each week! Those videos really help me understand what it is we need to do for each assignment, as well as allows us the opportunity to learn more about the different concepts that are introduced within this class. Not a lot of professors will post videos within the online class community. This makes it difficult at times when trying to understand assignments. I like that stable datum is not all mathematical! My organization will send individuals onsite when they are new without the necessary training. It can make for an uncomfortable week when you don’t understand what it is you need to be doing.

25. Take me through your thoughts and emotions as you started this course... where are you now?
When I first started the class, I was optimistic; I had always fancied myself as an outside-of-the-box thinker, and saw this as an opportunity to see what my capabilities might be in a different type of atmosphere.  Unfortunately, the road of Life is a rather bumpy one sometimes, and is full of twists and turns. Now I find myself having gotten off course, and am racing to get to the proverbial finish line.

1. What did you think of the Syllabus? Was it helpful?
The Syllabus is much different than what I was used to getting from other FHSU professors. Dr. Schwandt also provided an extended version online. It was at first overwhelming because new tools were introduced and Blackboard was not going to be utilized. However; the Syllabus is a handy tool to review and use as a checklist to stay on task.

2. What did you think of the Textbook? Recommended Reading/Books? Were they helpful?
This class is my first close look at the the US Health Care System. The textbook provides both micro and macro perspectives on the system - its organization design, behavior, and management. The recommended readings offer helpful information and practical ways to explore and learn health care and management principles.

1. Are the how-to videos still providing value? Please explain.
YES! The How-To-Videos really help! For EM7 Assignment, I skipped the video and went straight to viewing the Plectica Map only; that got me spinning my wheels until I viewed the video. I learned that viewing the video first followed by the Plectica map/presentation helps eliminate doubts and confusion.

2. Are the documents and videos I am providing valuable? Please explain.
YES! The video documentations are valuable in explaining concepts that are sometimes difficult to grasp by just reading. This time has been different, 1;  I have gone back to work full time. 2; expecting baby #2, and 3; adjusting to 10-12 hour work days with family time.  I would say my thoughts and emotions for this course are "thankful, curiousity, enjoyment." This has been a good steady likable course, which I knew it would be from the beginning.

22. Are you a member of the Facebook group? If no, why not?
I am a member of the Facebook group because I acknowledge how helpful it is to have a forum where some people may have the same questions or issues that might have already been resolved.
23. Do you think the Facebook group is useful? Why or why not?
23. Do you think the Facebook group is useful? Why or why not?
It is truly useful. This is a place where ideas are shared, and students can help each other as intended. It serves as a networking platform, but in the class helps us all bounce ideas off and help each other as well.
24. What do you think of the WordPress Learning Community? Is it better than Blackboard? Why or why not?
24. What do you think of the WordPress Learning Community? Is it better than Blackboard? Why or why not?
I feel the WordPress Learning Community is dynamic and way more useful than Blackboard because you can have more features and information in one organized place. Things are easier to find. Whereas, blackboard feels like just a couple useful “Folders” where professors have to somehow compile everything in a way that makes sense, but it seems to limit them in this way as well.

12. What do you think of Knowledge Transfer?
12. What do you think of Knowledge Transfer?
I was a little confused on what you meant by this when initially reading the question. Group learning is a method that this class has somewhat used, and I think this can be used to continue to share our thoughts with one another. As our professor, you do use quite a few analogies and metaphors. They do help me understand the concepts, but most of the analogies seem to be mathematically based, and I have a hard time relating math to different concepts.
13. What are your initial thoughts on Swarm Learning?
13. What are your initial thoughts on Swarm Learning?
I don’t dislike Swarm Learning, I am just still grasping the concept. I know that it uses System Thinking, which I understand and know how to use, and I know that it focuses on feedback. It seems to be a really efficient way for you to organize the class and create assignments, but I am still a little confused on how your students use it to interact with you.

14. What did you think of the Barriers to Learning?
14. What did you think of the Barriers to Learning?
The barriers make sense, I understand why you chose to put them in this how-to video. The overall barrier of thinking that we know everything is so important! I think that everyone has the tendency to ignore outside information because they do not like the thought that they always have more to learn.
15. What did you think of the Stable Datum?
15. What did you think of the Stable Datum?
I like that you use a stable datum as a way to organize the class and always have a framework to work with. I agree with you that people should have a stable datum to use because it forces people to have something stable while chaos is happening around them.

15. What did you think of CM5?
15. What did you think of CM5?
I enjoy the assignments where we get to utilize the book some. There are some useful concepts and interesting reads within our textbook! I feel like I learn a lot about the industry from reading some of the information included in our assignments.
16. What did you think of CM6?
16. What did you think of CM6?
CM6 was a great assignment. There were a lot of different concepts included within the assignment that forced us to think in different ways. I enjoyed applying these concepts to different healthcare scenarios. I think it is easy for people to lose sight of how difficult it is to make decisions and develop for organizations. The stages of team development helped me understand how complex it can be for teams to develop and improve. I also liked the different questions we answered from the book about turnover in an organization. Turnover is inevitable for every organization. It is good for leaders to always stay on top of the idea of turnover even if you don’t think it will happen to your organization.

17. What did you think of EM7? Do you still plan on writing a blog? What were your thoughts on using previous student blogs to deconstruct?
Yes! I am more motivated to write a blog. I honestly didn’t realize I was reading another students blog when going through them. Deconstructing another students blog allowed me to put more thought into the detail of what it is I need/should/want to include within my blog.
18. What did you think of the spiral method in EM7? What did you think of the discussion on logical fallacies?

I liked the spiral method used in EM7, as well as the logical fallacies. The examples provided to help us understand logical fallacies were entertaining and useful!

19. What did you think of the Thesis Generator in EM7? What did you think of the BDK Method and the Critical Thinking handouts?
The thesis generator was awesome! It helped me organize my thoughts for the blog that I am going to write over Red Team. The BDK method and critical thinking handouts were also useful tools to use to help plan out my blog.
20. What were your thoughts of this assignment (FM8)? Does this idea (Swarming Feedback) make sense?
20. What were your thoughts of this assignment (FM8)? Does this idea (Swarming Feedback) make sense?
I like the feedback assignments. It allows us to reflect on what we learned the last four weeks. I see it as a little bit of a quiz. I honestly wouldn’t look back on the theories and concepts we learned if we didn’t have the feedback map. The feedback map also allows us to relate the concepts over the weeks to one another, while providing us the opportunity to give feedback on the assignments.

16. What did you think of CM6?
16. What did you think of CM6?
I like looking deep into Team formation,  elements, dynamics and concepts that create team effectiveness. Mapping CM6 on Plectica was a very long and exhausting process for me but I learned many neat features of Plectica that I did not know were available.
17. What did you think of EM7? Do you still plan on writing a blog? What were your thoughts on using previous student blogs to deconstruct?
17. What did you think of EM7? Do you still plan on writing a blog? What were your thoughts on using previous student blogs to deconstruct?
EM7 was quite overwhelming to me because of the many new concepts of critical thinking and argument formation/deconstruction that were introduced in the assignment. I think it is very kind and open-minded of the students to allow us to deconstruct their writings. I am still planning on creating a blog/essay but I have thoughts of changing my topic from "The Cynefin Framework" to "The Benefits of Being a Military Child Outweigh the Challenges."
18. What did you think of the Spiral Method in EM7? What did you think of the discussion on Logical Fallacies?
18. What did you think of the Spiral Method in EM7? What did you think of the discussion on Logical Fallacies?
I think the Spiral Method by Dr. Schwandt is another innovative way to process and analyze information. As in other concepts, it will take familiarity and a lot of practice to utilize it since I am deeply set in my own habits and patterns of thinking and doing things. The Logical Fallacies examples are quite interesting; I saw myself and some people I know in some of them.

19. What did you think of the Thesis Generator in EM7? What did you think of the BDK Method and the Critical Thinking handouts?
The Thesis Generator is a handy tool to get an essay or paper started. see myself using it more often.  The BDK Method is amusing and the Critical Thinking Handouts  are a handy reference.

20. What are your thoughts of this assignment (FM8)? Does this idea (Swarming Feedback) make sense?
I am glad that I have another opportunity to rpovide feedback especially about the previous assignments  and resources. The Swarming Feedback Map  has gotten too big and cluttered because it still includes our responses to FM4. I thinkit is best to separate FM8 or maybe each student should create an indiidual  map in response to the new feedback questions.

The Facebook group is very timely and helpful. The interaction and tips from experts and students are priceless. It is a good supplement to the Wordpress Learning Community.

The Wordpress Learning Community has definitely  grown on me. It should be promoted more often on the Facebook group.

23. If you connected with an expert (e.g. Dave Snowded, Rob McClary, Laura Cabrera, etc.) did you enjoy the connection? Was it worthwhile?
I appreciate that Dr. Schwandt has connected me with Dave Snowden. I feel honored that  Mr. Snowden had given me an open inivation to communicate about Cynefin Framework. I have not taken the opportunity to connect yet but I will in the near future.

1. What did you think of the Syllabus? Was it helpful?
Reading the class syllabus for the first time is always a little overwhelming. I felt like the layout of the syllabus for this class was good. I still felt a little confused because I was so unfamiliar with Swarm Learning and some of the tools we utilize within the class. I found the video to be helpful!

2. What did you think of the Textbook? Recommended Reading/Books? Were they helpful?
I have honestly been spending a lot of my time figuring out some of the tools we use within the class and haven’t had much time to expand out into reading some of the recommended books. I do think the textbook is helpful, and wish we spent more time exploring the textbook within our assignments! I look forward to reading the recommended readings/books that were previously mentioned. Those items will allow me the opportunity to further expand upon healthcare administration.

3. What did you think of the How-To Videos? Were they helpful?
I found the videos to be extremely helpful! It will take some time to adapt to the Swarm Learning style since I am new to this type of learning. The videos allow me to feel more comfortable and confident in completing the weekly assignments. I appreciate the time and effort spent in putting together those instructional videos. They are more useful than relying on weekly emails that contain the assignment instructions.

6. Is Pletica becoming easier for you to use? And does it help you learn more?
6. Is Pletica becoming easier for you to use? And does it help you learn more?
a. Yes- it is becoming easier for me to use each time we make a new map for our assignment. Pletica is something that I considered trying to use at work with my teammates within the project management space. I do feel like it helps me learn more. It helps me to think outside of the box and connect concepts to one another.

7. Same question for Tableau, Rationaleonline.com and thinkquiry.
a. I don’t use tableau for this class just because I haven’t figured out how to get past the free student account items. I use tableau all the time at work and love it! We use it specifically for our project quality dashboards for each client. I also haven’t spent much time in rationaleonline.com due to the limitations. I have dabbled in thinkquiry but haven’t used it as much as we use Pletica!

16. What did you think of the first assignment (CM1)?
16. What did you think of the first assignment (CM1)?
CM1 was a good introductory assignment that allowed us to shake off our nerves and hesitation as we took in the syllabus. Since these were combined, CM1 felt like practice to me as I played around with Plectica, replaying the How-To video and making sure I followed every step mentioned. In the end, it felt like it was a simple assignment that I could not have completed without the video.
17. What did you think of CM2?
17. What did you think of CM2?
CM2 felt like I built off of the first one with new knowledge to expand to. I like the introduction of waypoints and how it allows for a presentation that one can navigate more easily and in order rather than panning over the whole map, guessing what was next.

18. What did you think of EM3? And do you plan on writing a blog? Why or why not? What else can I do to convince you to write a blog?
EM3 took me a little while to decide on as they are all interesting topics, but I found biomimicry to be the most intriguing at the moment. I am writing a blog! It allows for more creativity and even a more enjoyable reading experience than a regular essay.
19. Does it help knowing that students from this class (and others) have published blogs?
19. Does it help knowing that students from this class (and others) have published blogs?
It does help knowing that others have published blogs because it means others have experienced this class journey as well, and at the very least one can be reassured that there is no wrong way to do it.
20. What do you think of this assignment (FM4)? What are your thoughts on students providing feedback that can change a class in progress? Have you ever been asked this from an instructor before (throughout the class, not just at the end)?
20. What do you think of this assignment (FM4)? What are your thoughts on students providing feedback that can change a class in progress? Have you ever been asked this from an instructor before (throughout the class, not just at the end)?
I think FM4 is lengthy, but not repetitive which is a good thing! It allows me to go back and remember what we’ve gone over so far, and reassures me that I am more knowledgeable than when I started. Students providing feedback is useful because the professor can get an insight on how they are taking these assignments, and whether the goals he has for us are being met. I have never been asked for class feedback as the class is in session. It is usually at the end of the term, when they ask for feedback on their own performance and the content, which is done anonymously. However, this type of feedback survey I assume reflects how they work and informs the university. The one negative experience I had with this was when filling out the information in the map, as it would lag and I’d have to refresh often in order to continue.

21. What are your thoughts on the extra credit opportunities (e.g. blog, Facebook, and first to post)?
I feel the extra credit opportunities are something to be appreciated as this is very rare in college. To me it also shows the understanding that life happens, and these opportunities are ways to make up for it if need be, although absolutely not ideal. It also is an opportunity for people to show their investment in this class as well!

8. What do you think of ST v2.0 (DSRP)?
8. What do you think of ST v2.0 (DSRP)?
DSRP provides an alternative set of lenses through which I can examine concepts. I like that it asks me this essential question, “Am I seeing or not seeing distinctions, systems, relationships, and points of view?” When my husband was seminary student, I audited some of his classes. Several professors like to ask “What do you see?” during lecture and they drill down to the most obvious detail to the least noticeable but important word, fact, or idea.

9. What do you think of the new concepts introduced?
I am absolutely new to all the concepts that Dr. Schwandt introduced to the class. Immediately, I realized that I had to open my mind and accept that I do not know everything; then my brain became open to the opportunity of learning new ideas!
10. What are your thoughts on Lean Six Sigma? Is it a career path you would be interested in pursuing?
10. What are your thoughts on Lean Six Sigma? Is it a career path you would be interested in pursuing?
I think Lean Six Sigma’s focus on waste elimination (defects, over-production, waiting, non-utilized talent, transportation, inventory, motion, and extra-processing) is useful in business and other fields. I wish I had known about it years ago when I was building an organization of insurance agents; I would have saved a lot of time and resources. While I do not plan on pursuing Lean Six Sigma as a career path; I think the principles apply to any career field or area of life.

Is it useful?  I think so; it presents information in a platform with which people are intimately familiar.  It gives notifications and shares information where people will actually see it, rather than in an email that may or may not be opened. Also, it allows for broadcasting information using multiple available media, and can allow users to communicate virtually in real time.

1. What did you think of the Syllabus? Was it helpful?
I thought the syllabus was not straightforward at first, and I blamed it on my being a visual learner. However, after rereading I gained more and more understanding. I knew this class would provide a challenge that I am not too used to, but I could not yet pin point what it was that provided this feeling that I was not accustomed to. I was intimidated that I may not figure it out, but as soon as I watched the first “How-To” video I gave a sigh of relief because that is what helped me connect it all together and ultimately understand what was expected of me. Now, I still reference the syllabus to ensure I am on track, and clicking the right references for that week. It is a helpful resource at this point.
2. What did you think of the Textbook? Recommended Reading/Books? Were they helpful?
2. What did you think of the Textbook? Recommended Reading/Books? Were they helpful?
The textbook is informative in the sense that you can delineate the history of organization and administration, and you can see how it has evolved over time. It provides an appreciation for the field in leadership and management, which I learned are not the same but go hand in hand. Equally as important, they elaborate on the intricacies, which do not always feel relevant or necessary but I remain confident that the understanding provides a useful foundation. Recommended readings and the text so far are compelling, and so dense with interesting facts. They have been helpful in providing a background that I had not been exposed to previously!

8. What do you think of ST v2.0 (DSRP)?
8. What do you think of ST v2.0 (DSRP)?
I feel that systems thinking is a phenomenal concept that allows us to not only think more critically but get used to thinking outside the box as well. When learning about systems thinking I was introduced to thinking about how our brain creates mental models based on our experiences. It makes sense that our perspectives differ and when working together it adds value when compiling our ideas.
9. What do you think of the new concepts introduced?
9. What do you think of the new concepts introduced?
Every concept that has been introduced has provided a new dynamic understanding for me, and even makes me proud to know concepts that I would otherwise not have become familiar with. These concepts can be applied to any field, but I keep thinking about the Program Manager positions and how these help in a practical and effective way in this position.
10. What are your thoughts on Lean Six Sigma? Is it a career path you would be interested in pursuing?
10. What are your thoughts on Lean Six Sigma? Is it a career path you would be interested in pursuing?
Yes! Lean Six Sigma allows a team to work on a project more effectively and efficiently by “removing the waste” or unnecessary things they would otherwise spend time on. I personally would be very interested in pursuing this career path as I am aware of the impact this can have on a workplace or in any field. I can imagine the level of confidence any Master Black Belt has in knowing how trusted they are to help a company make needed progress and improvements. The knowledge it entails is enticing!
11. What did you think of the Pyramid Principle?
11. What did you think of the Pyramid Principle?
The pyramid principle helps one figure out his or her own ideas through inductive or deductive reasoning. This I feel depends on the information one starts with and the end goal one wants to reach. This tool is helpful in answering questions and gain clarity in an organized way, and clear visual.
12. What do you think of Knowledge Transfer?
12. What do you think of Knowledge Transfer?
It is very useful, and allows progress in the sense that the tools and necessary knowledge are carried over.
13. What are your initial thoughts on Swarm Learning?
13. What are your initial thoughts on Swarm Learning?
Swarm Learning makes you think! It is nonconventional, but it is a great thing. Instead of just being fed information, we are practical with the information and put it into action. The approach allows us to truly think critically and learn effectively. Since it is new to me, it still does not come naturally, but I am appreciating the practice of truly embracing a new way of learning. This is a way I feel that should be done more in schools as to provide more active learning rather than passive learning. I feel this generation just gets fed information through the screens we stare at daily, but I am not sure we are really taking in the information for long term.
14. What did you think of the Barriers to Learning?
14. What did you think of the Barriers to Learning?
I liked how the presentation took us step by step and provided examples to illustrate this concept. I feel lack of motivation to learn something can not only be influenced by someone’s past and environment, but it takes the desire to learn. I liked how it all comes down to just starting somewhere when something seems all over the place, and then going from there.
15. What did you think of the Stable Datum?
15. What did you think of the Stable Datum?
Stable Datum is not only a cool phrase to say, but I appreciate that it is a focal point to help us start somewhere when tackling a challenge. When hearing the professor mention “go back to what we know,” I not only thought of the R&B singer, Ne-Yo. whose lyrics are those words verbatim, followed by “go back to where you know your heart is.” I was given some peace of mind to be reminded that all it is, is to start with what you already know and understand in order to expand on that knowledge. I liked the examples that show how our exposure and knowledge thus far are what make it possible to continue learning new things.

6. Is Plectica becoming easier for you to use? And does it help you learn more? Please explain.
YES! I love Plectica because it brings out creativity! It also reinforces the concepts as I lift them from my text draft to the boxes. I find that I am understanding  and retaining information better!

7. Same question for Tableau, Rationaleonline.com, and Thinkquiry.
YES! Tablea, Rationale, and Thinkquiry are great tools to supplement my learning skills! However, I find that I prefer using Plectica more often than the others; maybe because it matches my learning style as a visual and hands-on learner.

24. What do you think of the WordPress Learning Community? Is it better than Blackboard? Why or why not?
I think the WordPress Learning Community has given me and my classmates a unique, dynamic, think-outside-the-box, and safe platform to express our work and our thoughts. The colorful maps show creativity; feedbacks are well-thought of and edifying. Based on my experience having used Blackboard since 2011, I can say that Blackboard is convenient to use but it has become monotonous. Often, students respond to posts in discussion boards without substance; just checking off the box.

I am hoping the class stays consistent with what we have done so far. I feel like I finally understand what we are doing. If there is anything new introduced, it would be nice for those new concepts/tools to be introduced slowly and not one week after another.

29. What is one thing you love?
I love the Swarm Learning concept and the community we are using for the class. This course is making us think outside of the box. We take so many graduate classes that use the same tools. That can get a little boring and monotonous over time. This class has given us the opportunity to be more creative with the concept maps. I also like that there is no black and white. We are given the opportunity to think outside of the box and use the gray area.

27. What are your expectations moving forward?
Moving forward, I am expecting assignments requiring slightly more complicated concept maps, further exploration into systems view and learning techniques involving health care.

28. What would you like to see change?
I get really overwhelmed trying to look at all of the different applications. I wish we had either one large app that we use for this class, or just a couple. I also wish we went slightly more in depth in the how-to videos explaining how the concepts relate to health care. Some of the analogies used are not as applicable for me.

It was very overwhelming. I am used to syllabi that are fairly basic and have very little content other than policies and the calendar. However, I like that it explained your thought process and it shows that you are very passionate about this class and its content.

2. What did you think of the Textbook? Recommended Reading/Books? Were they helpful?
The textbook is definitely informative, and it reinforces some ideas and thoughts I have gone over in past administration classes in my undergrad. As for the recommended readings, I have not had much time to read them. I definitely want to, but this past month I have been coming home, writing rehabs for athletes and then heading to bed! 😊

I LOVE the videos! Without them, I think I would have had a really hard time figuring out how to best structure a map in Plectica and comprehending exactly what you were hoping for us to create! It is sometimes easier to look back at the actual presentation you used if I need clarification rather than finding the exact spot in the video that I need.

12. What do you think of Knowledge Transfer?
This comes in to play with my work on a daily basis.  Many organizations should be doing this, but when it comes to healthcare such as the physical therapy clinic that I work at it is vital for us to pass along our diagnosis and treatment plans for patients to doctor's, patient's family, or other clinics needing to know precautions.

Like I have stated the first go around, I was "confused, then angry, then intrigued, excited."  For this go around I was ready, since the first time I have tried veiwing my life, work in a swarm learning manner.  I believe I personally learn best in this manner.   I don't struggle to achieve personal goals now that I know how to go about reaching them in a way that works for me.

14. What did you think of the Barriers to Learning?
The barriers did not seem as intense this go around.  They are still there it was just much easy for me to see them, anticipate, and adjust accordingly.  With all the classmates perspectives to grasp it is hard to find a reason to be stuck on a barrier.  Yes they can be intense sometimes, but since the first time I am able to acknowlegde they are there and continue with less added stress.

25. Take me through your thoughts and emotions as you started this course... where are you now?
I was excited in the very beginning and a little overwhelmed since I didn’t understand why we were using another tool outside of Blackboard. For some reason, the second assignment really got to me. I didn’t necessarily understand what we were supposed to do once the presentation mode was added into our map concepts. I never thought to myself that I should drop the class, but I was confused in the beginning. Now that we are a month into the class, I feel a lot more comfortable with all the tools and the concepts of Swarm Learning. I also love that we have a little support group and mentors within the Facebook group if needed.
26. What are your thoughts of the instructor using Tableau to grade and sharing the Student Dashboard?
26. What are your thoughts of the instructor using Tableau to grade and sharing the Student Dashboard?
I would prefer if our grades were kept within Blackboard for consistency with other classes across FHSU, but I like Tableau. I use Tableau at work so it wasn’t something that was necessarily new to me. Using grades within the tool is new, but the concept of Tableau was not new. I don’t really mind if our grades are shared within the student dashboard since we don’t have tests and quizzes. It was something that I had to get use to since grades are something that are private amongst students. Maybe that’s because that has always been the norm?

What were your thoughts on complexity, emergence, innovation, and organizational learning?
What were your thoughts on complexity, emergence, innovation, and organizational learning?
These are all great concepts for us to cover within the course. I am familiar with most of those concepts but feel like discussing those concepts in this class has helped me take a deeper dive into really understanding them. It is easy to say something is complex, but do people understand how/why it is complex?
What were your thoughts on the Cynefin framework and OODA Loop?
What were your thoughts on the Cynefin framework and OODA Loop?
I was excited we covered these concepts. Someone on Facebook had previously commented on my post about OODA loop. I didn’t really understand what that meant until we discussed it in our assignment. I think it is important that we take some of the military concepts and apply them to leadership roles within the healthcare industry!
What were your thoughts on the Toulmin Method?
What were your thoughts on the Toulmin Method?
The Toulmin method was a new concept for me. I enjoyed utilizing the method to deconstruct what was being said in Trevors argument, as well as deconstruct the article regarding childhood obesity and the affects it has on adulthood.
What were your thoughts on the Red Team Tool- Argument Deconstruction?
What were your thoughts on the Red Team Tool- Argument Deconstruction?
The Red Team argument deconstruction tool was a fun concept to use! It forced me to really understand and listen to the messages the video and blog were trying to portray to their readers and listeners. I wouldn’t mind if we revisit this again with another video/blog!
What were your thoughts on the double and single loop learning?
What were your thoughts on the double and single loop learning?
I had never heard of the double and single loop learning prior to this assignment. This concept is very eye-opening for me. People don’t think about the complexity behind finding solutions to problems or how individuals learn from adaptive and generative learning.
What were your thoughts on Professor Brunch’s video and the video on Soldier and Scout Mindset?
What were your thoughts on Professor Brunch’s video and the video on Soldier and Scout Mindset?
I specifically learned a lot from the Soldier and Scout Mindset video. It is easy to have a soldier mindset and emotionally respond with defensiveness to certain situations. Leaders need to be able to turn off and on their soldier/scout mindsets. For the most part, the leadership scenarios I am put into require a scout mindset. Leaders should be able to support and drive their organizations. They shouldn’t be defensiveness and unmotivated their employees. These concepts bring me back to emotional intelligence. Leaders with high emotional intelligence can not only read and react to others emotions but should be able to control their own by not responding in a defensive way to certain situations.
What were your thoughts on the Nominal Group Technique, the Delphi Method, and Context Analysis
What were your thoughts on the Nominal Group Technique, the Delphi Method, and Context Analysis
These concepts are important for leaders to understand because they help promote team members to brainstorm and generate ideas. Motivation from team members usually stems from leaders encouraging members to be the ones to generate new innovative ideas, or to even brainstorm solutions to current problems. These techniques are important to associate satisfaction within an organization.

8. What were your thoughts on complexity, emergence, innovation, and organizational learning?
These were such valuable concepts that I will continue to revisit. As an emerging leader who would love to be as confident and skilled to connect with her team, I feel these are crucial concepts to understand. The idea of complexity and the opportunity it lends to innovation is intriguing. Organizational learning can be made possible when there is not only cohesiveness but commitment to perform each role towards the team’s goal.

11. What were your thoughts on the Red Team tool -- Argument Deconstruction?
I admittedly struggle with this activity as I felt that my mind is not trained to think philosophically. I would find it felt counterintuitive to go back and try to pin point what exactly I was expected to answer. This is why I did take long to create these.
12. What were your thoughts on Double and Single Loop Learning?
12. What were your thoughts on Double and Single Loop Learning?
I appreciated getting an understanding of these concepts. Single-loop learning to me means trial and error or finding an error and correcting it based on the information that is already in place. My goal is to reach the double-loop learning because it involves great initiative as you create something new from what is already in place in order to improve it further.
13. What were your thoughts on Professor Bunch's video and the video on Soldier and Scout Mindset?
13. What were your thoughts on Professor Bunch's video and the video on Soldier and Scout Mindset?
I like being challenged on the way that I think. It seems all too easy in this class to get stumped! It carries more weight to know experts and professionals are highlighting and making people aware on a scale like TEDex, encouraging them to think about how they think.
14. What were your thoughts on the Nominal Group Technique, the Delphi Method, and Context Analysis?
14. What were your thoughts on the Nominal Group Technique, the Delphi Method, and Context Analysis?
I was so intrigued by the Nominal and Delphi technique in helping teams efficiently and fairly give their input.
The Nominal I appreciate because it allows for each member to give their own input while they are all brainstorming. It prevents anyone from being talked over or skipped in a way. The Delphi technique makes it efficient to meet and plan when teams are not in the same physical vicinity. So, it allows for things to get done in this way.
Context analysis is crucial to survey the components of a structure or system in order to make more informed planning.

I tried as best I could to go in without any preconceived notions, to approach with an open mind.  Aside from having had to muddle through Plectica for the first time, the assignment itself was not at all difficult.  I found the format refreshing, quite a welcome change from the routine.

18. What did you think of EM3? And do you plan on writing a blog? Why or why not? What else can I do to convince you to write a blog?
Quite frankly, I was overwhelmed by the complexity and by how different the lead-up was from anything I had previously done.  That, combined with my personal circumstances, made EM3 a no-go for me. Had I completed this assignment, I might have considered doing it in blog format.

To my recall, this is the first time I have been asked for my opinions and feedback in the middle of a class, to the point where it might actually alter the direction of the course going forward. Most instructors have a syllabus that is set in stone; I appreciate the application of water logic.

4. What do you think of Plectica?
4. What do you think of Plectica?
The very first notion I had of this site is that it seemed tedious, and I had not gotten the point until I started getting a “hands-on” experience with it. As you work through it and put your thoughts together, it allows me to not only fine tune my end result, but even focus my mind on where I wanted to go with it. Given, my indecisive personality, Plectica has provided me with the ability to just get started and lose the feelings of “writer’s block” per say and not be worried about the outcome! As we move along in this class I see Plectica as a home base when things get more complex. It’s a very useful resource to lay thoughts out.

7. Did you use Thinkquiry? If so, was it helpful?
I have not exercised Thinkquiry yet, but I want to challenge myself to do so as it allows one to think more critically about things and dive deeper in my own understanding. I cannot deny the asset there is in thinking about what is not apparent rather than what comes more easily to someone. Thinking beyond is something I personally need to improve on, and I intend to use this tool to do so.

Sometimes, when professors tell their students to just do the work, submit it and forget about it without worrying, they don’t actually mean it! As for being better than Blackboard, I can’t really say because this is my first semester with FHSU online school and Blackboard has worked really well for the other couple classes I am in. I think it might depend on the type of class you are teaching and what resources you use!

- 13. What were your thoughts on Professor Bunch's video and the video on Soldier and Scout Mindset?
This was eye-opening and completely intreging.  I saw how in situations there has to be a soldier mindset that is able to quickly make a decision and follow through to the end goal.  While on the other hand a scout assesses the situation and depending on the circumstances follows  the best route for success.  I have noticed that in most cases I am more of a scout mindset, and instantly realize when I have given the reigns over to the soldier in me.

Almost all organizations involve teams, and these concepts showed how to encourage employees, colleages, and generate ideas from people that felt included.  Getting everyone to brainstorm comes from a leader who understands where everyone is in the team and encourages productivity and morale.

I enjoyed CM5 and starting to use Tableau to make the first Dashboard. I took longer to play around with it and finally get the right procedure, but I felt accomplished to have learned a feature in Tableau!

17. What did you think of EM7? Do you still plan on writing a blog? What were your thoughts on using previous student blogs to deconstruct?
EM7 stumped me for longer than I wish because it compelled me to think more philosophically than I am used to. I believe this is great practice, but I frustrated myself as I would revisit and rewrite the different components in each of the deconstruction methods. I still plan on writing a blog.
18. What did you think of the Spiral Method in EM7? What did you think of the discussion on Logical Fallacies?
18. What did you think of the Spiral Method in EM7? What did you think of the discussion on Logical Fallacies?
The spiral method is aesthetically pleasing to begin with. However, when looking at how the content presented is structured, it is easy to follow. The Logical fallacies is still something I have to reread to get a better hang of, but I do understand the ways each of these can undermine an argument by not hitting the target and adding more “fluff” essentially or being irrelevant.
19. What did you think of the Thesis Generator in EM7? What did you think of the BDK Method and the Critical Thinking handouts?
19. What did you think of the Thesis Generator in EM7? What did you think of the BDK Method and the Critical Thinking handouts?
I am still in the process of figuring this particular part out and so I will be following up with the professor as soon as I can feel comfortable with it. However, the BDK Method is such a valuable tool that I personally need to continue to keep accessible to me for the “Healthy skepticism” they refer to. It is an ongoing challenge for me to generally be more of a skeptic, but I am aware that it is about training the mind. The Critical Thinking handouts as well are another way to help me view this skill. I am grateful for this.

20. What are your thoughts of this assignment (FM8)? Does this idea (Swarming Feedback) make sense?
I still feel it is very valuable for the professor to see how we are all taking everything in. I felt a lot more efficient when getting to the point and answering these, but the map itself being loaded was slow, and I a m sure that is just because of how big the file is. Swarming feedback does make sense as it is a compilation of all our ideas!

8. What do you think of ST v2.0 (DSRP)?
8. What do you think of ST v2.0 (DSRP)?
I thought the overall ‘course’ was helpful, but I wish it was slightly faster paced. Sometimes it seemed like the speakers were restating minor concepts from the last video. I did appreciate how they broke down DSRP. Knowing what the acronym stands for is always helpful, but they broke it down even further into specific examples.
9. What do you think of the new concepts introduced?
9. What do you think of the new concepts introduced?
I can understand the majority of the concepts, especially those that are reinforced in the textbook. The concepts appear relatively simple but there are so many ways to apply them that I am a little concerned that I might get lost along the way!
10. What are your thoughts on Lean Six Sigma? Is it a career path you would be interested in pursuing?
10. What are your thoughts on Lean Six Sigma? Is it a career path you would be interested in pursuing?
Lean Six Sigma is an interesting concept. It makes sense to achieve goals by removing unnecessary steps and ‘cleaning up’ an initially long, arduous process. However, I have never seen it in practice, so it is hard for me to say if it is something I would like to pursue.
11. What did you think of the Pyramid Principle?
11. What did you think of the Pyramid Principle?
I typically use the Pyramid Principle when I map out my thoughts or create a plan. It makes sense to break perspectives and points down into smaller, easily understood segments. It seems like the most effective way to map out a concept with multiple, interconnecting parts.

Fort this type of course I believe it is wonderful.  If the professors that use blackboard were totransition into a teaching style such as this it would work better in wordpress.  If they want to keep the layout of a typical online class then blackboard may be better for that.  I guess it just depends on how much feedback and interaciton the profession wants in the course.

16. What did you think of the first assignment (CM1)?
The first assignment was a little intimidating. I just didn’t understand Pletica and what Swarm Learning was. I really enjoyed making my first map once I understood the assignment. It was fun to see everyone’s different maps they created and learn about all of our classmates!
17. What did you think of CM2?
17. What did you think of CM2?
CM2 was more enjoyable to me since I understood the creating maps within Pletica. I did get a little confused at first with what was expected for the assignment, but I finally figured out how to create the map within presentation mode. This was the first assignment that had us use our book. I enjoyed reading more about the healthcare industry and systems thinking. My CM2 map was created to only include a summary of my answers. I decided to go with a simplistic approach.

18. What did you think of EM3? And do you plan on writing a blog? Why or why not? What else can I do to convince you to write a blog?
EM3 was a little confusing since rationale.com doesn’t allow people with free accounts to do much within the tool. I would have really enjoyed using that tool. It allows people to really organize their thoughts and ideas by using a pyramid principle. Thankfully I was able to use Pletica to create a pyramid and provide a brief summary of what I was planning on doing for my blog. I do plan on writing a blog. I have always wanted to attempt writing a blog. Between my desire to write a blog and the extra credit, I feel like writing a blog is a much better option for me to pick!

20. What do you think of this assignment (FM4)? What are your thoughts on students providing feedback that can change a class in progress? Have you ever been asked this from an instructor before (throughout the class, not just at the end)?
No, I have only been asked to fill out the FHSU surveys at the end of the semester. I like that we are given the opportunity to provide feedback. It shows that our opinions are valued and that someone is listening to what we have to say. The feedback provided from past classes was used and implemented. I feel like sometimes I see posts on Facebook that mention items that have been changed within this class and others.
21. What are your thoughts on the extra credit opportunities (e.g. blog, Facebook, and first to post)?
21. What are your thoughts on the extra credit opportunities (e.g. blog, Facebook, and first to post)?
love the extra cred opportunities that are provided within this class. Not a lot of professors allow for extra credit opportunities. I can see why the extra credit is offered for the above reasons. It takes a brave student to post their assignments first. Extra credit for the first post is motivating us to break down the barriers and take a stab at the assignment. I also enjoy the Facebook group. This group allows us to post interesting information that coincides with what we are learning, as well as gives us the opportunity to post our maps and get some feedback from past classmates.

8. What were your thoughts on complexity, emergence, innovation, and organizational learning?
8. What were your thoughts on complexity, emergence, innovation, and organizational learning?
Complexity
Complexity
To me, “complexity” invokes complexness, elaborateness, intricacy, and sophistication. Weather systems, ant colonies, human economies, and health care organizations are all complex systems. In the case of Health Care Organizations, there are three characteristics of complex systems: interdependence, non-linearity, and dynamism (Burns, L.R. et. al. 2011, p. 224).
Emergence
Emergence
Between order (stability) and chaos (instability) emerge new ideas, products, practices, and relationships. I think of a blended shake drink: different ingredients are added to the mixer/blender (milk, spinach, sugar, cinnamon, peanut butter, etc); when blended, a new flavor emerges.
Innovation
Innovation
Beware of three common myths or misconceptions about innovation: (1) innovation is good; (2) there is a formula, and (3) innovation is linear.
Organizational Learning
Organizational Learning
Organizational learning is influenced by organizational leadership, culture, policies, and routines. Five “disciplines” promote organizational learning: (1) systems thinking, (2) personal mastery, (3) mental models, (4) shared vision, and (5) team learning.

OODA LOOP - Observe, Orient, Decide, and Act.
OODA LOOP - Observe, Orient, Decide, and Act.
As a military spouse, I became accustomed to the OODA Loop way of thinking as my military family lived for seventeen years overseas in high-threat regions of the world. My naval aviator husband taught me and our two sons situational awareness using OODA Loop. I  subconsciously use it as I deal with high-stress and unpredicatable classroom situations as a Special Education Instructional Assistant.
CYNEFIN FRAMEWORK
CYNEFIN FRAMEWORK
Cynefin offers five decision-making contexts or "domains" - obvious, complicated, complex, chaotic, and disorder that help managers to identify how they perceive situations and make sense of their own and other people's behavior. When Dr. Schwandt introduced this concept to our class, I immediately thought of OODA Loop! But I understand that there are similarities and differences. I think OODA Loop is simple and easy to remember. Cynefin seems more appropriate to apply in complex situations. I still intend to write my blog/essay to learn more about Cynefin.

10. What were your thoughts on the Toulmin Method?

It would be nice to find a balance between the Soldier Mindset and Scout Mindset. When I was younger, I believe my decisions were mostly driven by my pride and sense of invincibility withought considering the consequences of my actions. As I got older, lessons from previous actions have helped me develop a Scout Mindset  to make well-informed decisions and take situations in full context.

14. What were your thoughts on the Nominal Group Technique, the Delphi Method, and Context Analysis?
There are advantages and disadvantages in asking feedback/opinions from team/group members; sometimes, the process of collecting and measuring data (Nominal Group Technique and  Delphi Method)  can speed up or slow down the decision-making process. Context Analysis is very important in every situation to see the bigger picture.

6. Is Plectica becoming easier for you to use? And does it help you learn more? Please explain.
Yes it is becoming easier. As far as concept maps go and the organizational features I feel it is happening faster and comes more naturally except for when my laptop slows down when on the website! I love the ability to arrange, rearrange, and just order things in a way that make sense to me.

7. Same question for Tableau, Rationaleonline.com, and Thinkquiry.
Tableau requires that I play with it more and look at how-to videos such as the dashboard, but the second one did feel easier to create. I look forward to finding out and understanding it’s useful features. I feel better about rationaleonline.com because when seeing it all come together visually, I feel like I am not only using a unique tool but one that makes life easier in a way. Finally, thinkquiry still does not come naturally to me, but it challenges me to thn=ink more deeply about certain topics.

16. What did you think of the first assignment (CM1)?
16. What did you think of the first assignment (CM1)?
I liked the first assignment. It wasn’t very stressful because it allowed us to understand Plectica and the overall point of each concept map. I like that you gave us the opportunity to tell the group who we are and why we are taking this class.
17. What did you think of CM2?
17. What did you think of CM2?
I thought CM2 was more focused on the actual concepts we had gone over, which I appreciated because there were quite a few concepts I did not understand in the book. (Barrier 3!) I liked the creativity of CM1 more, but CM2 forced me to work on analyzing administration concepts.

18. What did you think of EM3? And do you plan on writing a blog? Why or why not? What else can I do to convince you to write a blog?
I enjoyed it because I could research all the different ideas and topics which were unfamiliar to me at the time. I am planning to write a blog because it is a unique assignment and allows me to be more creative in my classes,. I am a little concerned about figuring out the right method/website to write my blog.
19. Does it help knowing that students from this class (and others) have published blogs?
19. Does it help knowing that students from this class (and others) have published blogs?
Yes, it does! Blogs are a little intimidating, so knowing that other students succeeded in making a nicely organized and informational blog makes me feel like it is something I am capable of.

20. What do you think of this assignment (FM4)? What are your thoughts on students providing feedback that can change a class in progress? Have you ever been asked this from an instructor before (throughout the class, not just at the end)?
This assignment is fairly long-winded, but I understand that it will help you and your students in the future. When multiple of the students have similar opinions, I think it can let the professor know when something needs to change (or stay the same). I have had an instructor ask me to do this in the middle of the class before, but I do not believe they took our opinions to change the class mid-semester.

I like them, I think it is always nice when an instructor provides a way to help out students. It is comforting to know that we can make up points and that we can earn credit with hard work!

I appreciate the fact that it makes me think by raising questions that might not have otherwise occurred to me.
9. What do you think of the new concepts introduced?
9. What do you think of the new concepts introduced?
While there is a part of me that thinks that the new concepts may be tantamount to trying to reinvent the wheel, for the most part I am curious to see if any of the concepts can be applied in other areas of my learning.
10. What are your thoughts on Lean Six Sigma? Is it a career path you would be interested in pursuing?
10. What are your thoughts on Lean Six Sigma? Is it a career path you would be interested in pursuing?
Realistically, I do not see myself pursuing Lean Six Sigma. I think the principles and results are fantastic, and the increase in efficiency that comes of removing the waste is good for any business, healthcare included.  That notwithstanding,  I would think that Lean Six Sigma would be better suited to one more business-oriented - and younger - than me.
11. What did you think of the Pyramid Principle?
11. What did you think of the Pyramid Principle?
The Pyramid Principle is very helpful in organizing arguments and supporting  information points in inductive/deductive reasoning, then expressing them in a logical and visual fashion.
12. What do you think of Knowledge Transfer?
12. What do you think of Knowledge Transfer?
Sharing information, experience, and specific occupational knowledge between colleagues and/or between departments is absolutely vital to the success of any business. It can be challenging, though, to determine what knowledge needs to be transferred, how to accomplish the goal, when to do it, and why said information needs to be divulged.

14. What did you think of the Barriers to Learning?

15. What did you think of the Stable Datum?
15. What did you think of the Stable Datum?
Having a stable datum in the midst of chaos and confusion is like a boat having an anchor on a stormy sea.  Focusing on one thing at a time, rather than many things at once, simplifies any process and eliminates the "noise" that can cause one to become perplexed and disoriented.

Many professors do not give extra credit, and I believe in regards to this course and the way it is being presented extra credit is great to give.  It allows for that little extra push for some students to try something out side of comfort, and possibly find a skill they never thought they would have.

I am a member of the Facebook group! I like that there is a Facebook group for this class. I must admit that I was intimidated by the group at first since it contains individuals outside of our class that have experience with Swarm Learning and Pletica maps. I just had to get use to the concept of utilizing Facebook with current classmates and past classmates.
23. Do you think the Facebook group is useful? Why or why not?
23. Do you think the Facebook group is useful? Why or why not?
Yes, I do believe the Facebook group is useful. It gives us the opportunity to connect with not only our classmates but those that have already gone through the class. We are given the opportunity to get feedback on our work from Swarm Learning experienced learners, as well as read articles that are posted about relevant items we are learning within class.

24. What do you think of the WordPress Learning Community? Is it better than Blackboard? Why or why not?
I like that we have the opportunity to get outside of Blackboard. The WordPress Learning Community was not hard to learn. The notifications on the side make it easier for us to see who is posting within the community. Sometimes it is difficult to read posts and view new ones within Blackboard unless you do a little digging within the discussion boards. Viewing everyone’s grades was a new one for me. It doesn’t really bother me since we don’t have exams or quizzes within this class. Just something I had to get use to.

I always appreciate doing assignments that really work with the textbook and healthcare learning assignments. I liked this one!
CM6
CM6
I liked this one just a little more than CM5 because we had to deconstruct the types of teams and I felt like it really connected with administration healthcare.

Again, I really liked looking at student's blogs so I can look for ideas when I am writing my own blog!
Videos provided to deconstruct
Videos provided to deconstruct
I really liked the videos! Trevor Noah's was a little difficult to deconstruct because of the length, but I think it also made it a good challenge.
Spiral Method

I think I understand the spiral method. There's a lot to it, but the assignments helped.
Logical Fallacies
Logical Fallacies
I understand logical fallacies, but I wish we had more of a handout on them instead of solely an explanation. The explanation was helpful, but I would have liked to look back in my own notes/textbook to figure it out!
Thesis Generator
Thesis Generator
I liked this! I did find it strange how it put certain things together. It would combine my sentences in weird ways, but it would still give me a generalized statement to build off of!
Critical Thinking Handouts
Critical Thinking Handouts
I looked at these handouts, but they used examples from rationaleonline.com where I really only use Plectica!
BDK Method
BDK Method
I like that this breaks down how to spot logical fallacies, but I still wish we almost had a separate assignment on logical fallacies so I understood it better!

I appreciate you trying to get as much feedback as possible. I will say that these feedback maps do include a lot of questions and I tire out by the end of them!

What are your expectations moving forward?
What are your expectations moving forward?
I expect us to be working on more concept maps, and continuing to read through the book, using video and document additional resources.
What would you like to see change?
What would you like to see change?
I would like slightly more in depth explanation on smaller topics instead of really broad assignments covering several things. I understand that it may not be possible since we have a lot to cover!
What is one thing you love?
What is one thing you love?
I love the use of the How-to videos, they are very helpful when working on the assignments.
What is one thing you hate?
What is one thing you hate?
I don't like how many additional resources we have in each presentation. I want to have the time to read them all and look at them, but I struggle with having the time to do that.

Clarify some of the topics a little bit more, relate them to healthcare administration.

4. What do you think of Plectica?
4. What do you think of Plectica?
I found Plectica confusing and frustrating at first, but after having played with it for some time, it is relatively simple to use.  It's also quite helpful to be able to jump from spot to spot in expressing ideas.
5. What are your expectations for Tableau?
5. What are your expectations for Tableau?
I am certain Tableau is a fantastic product with a wide variety of applications, but I can see myself going down a proverbial rabbit hole with this software, and possibly getting lost or confused in the midst of a project.
6. What do you think of Rationaleonline.com?
6. What do you think of Rationaleonline.com?
I found Rationale to be very similar in  many respects to  Plectica, at least at first glance.  I can see how this could be a very effective tool in creating an argument basis for an essay or blog.
7. Did you use Thinkquiry? If so, was it helpful?
7. Did you use Thinkquiry? If so, was it helpful?
I tried it, but it was not something that I personally felt comfortable with for use in the tasks at hand.

I was, at first, uncomfortable and intimidated by the Syllabus, all the online tools, and new concepts. Today, I am more confident in using the online tools. I feel that I can complete future assignments more timely and with less stress 😊

I am used to grades posted privately. However, I think it is brilliant to show the class progress as a whole for the purpose of demonstrating “Swarm Learning.” We work as a team and each member spurs the other members into action and to do well. When I was in insurance business, our organization displayed performance/production charts to encourage productivity and friendly competition.
